Here you’ll find information about recent additions and changes to VulcaniaSubmarine.Com

(PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO FIND THE LATEST ENTRY)

2001

31 JULY 2001:  VULCANIASUBMARINE.COM is online via ADDR Webhosting and Network Solutions.

01 OCTOBER 2001: VulcaniaSubmarine.Com server stats report 381 hits in 62.4 days during August and September.   Site activity limited to email response to information requests, while designing site additions for publication.

2002

14 FEBRUARY 2002:  Website activity has been slow; only another 358 hits from Nov 01 till now: about 3 hits per day.  Not much there but the email address and home page.  Working on other projects now and website has to take a back seat for a while.

2003

01 OCTOBER 2003:  After a couple years downtime, the website is up and running again.  WYSIWYG.  Or, check the THINGS TO COME page for changes and improvements we have planned for the future.

02 OCTOBER 2003:  The EMAIL TO WEBMASTER function has been installed; however, I am unable to access it to read or reply to messages because my server is suddenly and mysteriously offline.  I’ve learned the server renewed their domain name today.  I’m advised that, perhaps through an oversight on their part, they let their domain name expire, and are now in the process of bringing their pages back online.  At any rate, my ability to upload pages to VSC seems unaffected.  I hope to have the email working soon.

02 OCTOBER 2003:  Installed the WHAT’S NEW page to advise visitors of (you guessed it) what’s new at VSC.

03 OCTOBER 2003:  My server is  back online and the EMAIL TO WEBMASTER is working; however, any email sent during the past two days didn’t get through.  (The test messages I sent didn’t make it, so neither did yours.)  If you sent any email to the webmaster over the past two days, I didn’t receive it.  Please send your message again.   Thanks!

03 OCTOBER 2003:  Added GUY TAKIGUCHI’s amazing Brass-Clad NAUTILUS replica to the NAUTILUS MODELS section.  Installed a more appropriate background to the DISNEYLAND 20,000 LEAGUES EXHIBIT page.

04 OCTOBER 2003:  Activated DISCUSSION GROUP.  Twelve hours later, after many corrections, I think I got it right.  Try making a post and see how it comes out!

04 OCTOBER 2003:  Added three pictures of the 20-foot NAUTILUS trolley model and 11-foot special effects model to the BEHIND THE SCENES page.  ALSO, made textual improvements to WILLIAM BABINGTON’s page.

05 OCTOBER 2003:  Took the WDW FLORIDA page offline temporarily to work on it.  Will return soon.

06 OCTOBER 2003:  WDW FLORIDA page is back online after corrections were made.

06 OCTOBER 2003:  Added BUILDING THE NAUTILUS DIVER page.  More will be added soon, when project is completed.

08 OCTOBER 2003:  Added an email link to TECH-TALK: a technical information source for fans of underwater technologies and homebuilt submarines.

09 OCTOBER 2003:  Added three images (some courtesy of Rich Bean) to the NAUTILUS IMAGES page.

10 OCTOBER 2003:  Added link to BRASS HAT DIVER on our LINKS page.   Made an addition to the READ THIS FIRST page for those whose computers are unable to access pages on VSC.

11 OCTOBER 2003:  Added a picture of the original HYPERSUB pool test model to the BUILDING THE HYPERSUB page.

12 OCTOBER 2003:  Added a tribute page to THE DISNEY DIVERS.

13 OCTOBER 2003:  Added a Nautilus model image to the TOM SCHERMAN page, courtesy of Wayne Orlicki; and added a screen capture of the 20-footer in Fox Lake to the BEHIND THE SCENES page, courtesy of Ty Bumgardner.  Thanks fellas!

14 OCTOBER 2003:  Reconfigured the PRODUCTION ARTWORK page for smoother scrolling.  Corrected the LINKS to the JULES VERNE COLLECTION of Garmt de Vries.  (Go have a look at his site, it’s great!)  Also, added a link to the FREE VIDEO CLIPS page where you can access and download Rob LeDrew’s 15 minute WDW 20,000 LEAGUES VOYAGE ride video!  Highly recommended!

15 OCTOBER 2003:  Reconfigured PETER MADSEN’s page for his submarine FREYA; now it scrolls freely, like it’s supposed to.

17 OCTOBER 2003:  Added a page for THE BIONIC DOLPHIN in the FEATURED SUBS department.  Thanks, Doc and Dusty!

18 OCTOBER 2003:  Added THE JOURNAL OF PROFESSOR P. ARONNAX to the WEBSITE DEPARTMENTS section.  This is an editorial page where information, thoughts, and opinions on various site-related topics will be presented by the Webmaster to enhance public awareness and stimulate intellectual debate.

27 OCTOBER 2003:  Added a page for Karl Stanley’s newest submarine, IDABEL.  (More to follow soon.)  Also added the article entitled ANALYSIS PARALYSIS to THE JOURNAL.

02 NOVEMBER 2003:  Deactivated the MESSAGE BOARD, TECH TALK, and JOURNAL links; to be reconfigured at a later date.

ALSO: reorganized the HOMEPAGE to improve hyperlink navigation throughout the site.

03 NOVEMBER 2003:  Added another in-process shot of the helmet to the BUILDING THE NAUTILUS DIVER page.  ALSO:  added graphic image of a new VULCANIA SUBMARINE LOGO to the FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS page.

05 NOVEMBER 2003:  Added a page with the first pictures of Peter Madsen’s new submarine, KRAKA, to the FEATURED SUBMARINES section of the HOMEBUILT SUBMERSIBLES department.

12 NOVEMBER 2003:   Added a picture of PROFESSOR ARONNAX’S CABIN to the DISNEYLAND 20,000 LEAGUES EXHIBIT page.  Actually, it’s a colorized still of the actual movie set, and not a picture taken in the Exhibit itself.  But since the Exhibit featured the movie sets, hopefully this will suffice until I can track down a picture of the actual display in Disneyland.

13 NOVEMBER 2003:   Added two more pictures of Peter Madsen’s new submarine KRAKA under construction in Denmark.

14 NOVEMBER 2003:  Added picture of the CHARTROOM to the DISNEYLAND 20,000 LEAGUES EXHIBIT page.

20 NOVEMBER 2003:  Reactivated THE JOURNAL with articles: HOMEBUILT SUBMARINES, ANALYSIS PARALYSIS, DEEP FLIGHT?, and  THE NEED FOR SPEED.

21 NOVEMBER 2003:  Reactivated the MESSAGE BOARD.

22 NOVEMBER 2003:  We’ve had another technical malfunction with the MESSAGE BOARD and it is inoperative again.  Please don’t post any messages there until it’s been corrected.  I’ll post a notice here when that’s been done and the Board is operational again.  If you need to contact us, please use the EMAIL TO THE WEBMASTER function.  Thanks.

22 NOVEMBER 2003:  The MESSAGE BOARD is operational again.

23 NOVEMBER 2003:  Deactivated THE JOURNAL page.  Commentary, messages, announcements and such will now be handled through the MESSAGE BOARD.

05 DECEMBER 2003:  Added Carsten Standfuss  SGT. PEPPERS to the FEATURED SUBS department.  Here are some never-before-seen underwater pictures of this unique homebuilt in operation.  Take a look!

13 DECEMBER  2003:  Added a link to Dave Shuff’s new website dedicated to the 20,000 LEAGUES RIDE at  WDW Florida.  This is easily the definitive site for that particular attraction, and is recommended as a “must see” for Leaguers everywhere.  You can access Dave’s site via the LINKS page.

19 DECEMBER 2003:  Added a page featuring Dan Kachur’s great NAUTILUS replica to the NAUTILUS MODELS department.  This is the functional R/C version featured in the December 1992 issue of SCALE SHIP MODELER MAGAZINE.  Some never-seen things there, too.

2004

10 JANUARY 2004:  Been too busy doing other things to mess with the Website lately.  Today I put a link to the NAUTILUS MINISUB PROVING TEST VIDEO CLIP at the bottom of the TESTING THE NAUTILUS MINISUB IN CALIFORNIA page.  You’ll need a Media Player to view it on your PC.  It’s 10.5 megs, so it might take a while to download if you’re on dialup.  This is an AVI clip comprised of scenes from the proving tests back in 1991, set to music.  It was our first attempt at this sort of thing; the program we used is obsolete now; and the image is extremely pixilated when enlarged.  But the music is CD quality, and at least you can get a look at the sub in operation.  Enjoy!

16 JANUARY 2004:  Added the story of THE NAUTILUS MINISUB to THE JOURNAL OF PROFESSOR P. ARONNAX.  Tells a little about how and why we built this submarine.  I intend to follow this article with another about the NEMOSUIT.

24 JANUARY 2004:  Added some new pictures of PETER MADSEN’S  KRAKA in the Submarine Department.  Also added more pictures (Courtesy of Jim Boyd: thanks Jimmy!) to LEON LYONS’ page in the Underwater Technologies Department.

26 JANUARY 2004:  Added a new link to BOB MARTIN’s improved R/C Nautilus Submarine site, entitled (appropriately enough) R/C SUBMARINES.  Access this site through the BOB MARTIN hyperlink on our LINKS page.  And look forward to a page about Bob’s gorgeous R/C NAUTILUS coming soon to the NAUTILUS MODELS DEPARTMENT here at VSC.  Enjoy!

27 JANUARY 2004:  Added eight new pictures to the NAUTILUS IMAGES page, featuring the work of two extremely talented artists I’ve only recently discovered: CHRISTOPHE LENGRAND and PAUL MCDONNEL.   Obviously, these guys really love the NAUTILUS, and their graphic representations are truly worthy of recognition.  Absolutely beautiful!

28 JANUARY 2004:  Added several new pictures to the PRODUCTION ARTWORK page.

28 JANUARY 2004:  Added a link to Richard Adams’ DIVING MACHINES website on the LINKS page.

28 JANUARY 2004:  Added a couple B&W pictures to THE DISNEY DIVERS page of Kirk Douglas diving during the filming of the underwater scenes for 20,000 LEAGUES back in ’54.  Also: added information that the gentleman in the picture with Kirk and Director Richard Fleischer is EARL FELTON, the Screen Writer for LEAGUES.  Thanks to Larry Brooks for pointing that out!

03 FEBRUARY 2004:  Will Babington provided some great photos of Tom Scherman’s DIVER replica and the original 11-Foot NAUTILUS SFX Model, and I’ve posted them on the LIVING SEAS EXHIBIT page.  Good stuff; have a look!

07 FEBRUARY 2004:  On the VSC LINKS page: reactivated the hyperlink to my NAUTILUS MINISUB page at the SUBCOMMITTEE, which got a new URL when it went to the archive there as part of their website makeover.  Thanks to Bob Martin, new Webmaster at SUBCOMMITTEE.  If you’re into R/C model subs, this is one place you don’t want to miss.

11 FEBRUARY 2004: On the MESSAGE BOARD, Nick Bowen explained the procedures to insert pictures into the messages we post there, and as long as it doesn’t get too outrageous I invite you all to have some fun with that.  I’ve tried it, and it works!

12 FEBRUARY 2004:  To the PRODUCTION ARTWORK page: added one rare B&W rendering of the entire composition that eventually became the basis for the color movie poster used to advertise 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA.  It’s a nice picture; definitely worth a look.

12 FEBRUARY 2004:  To the POSTERS AND LOBBYCARDS page:  Added a good quality image of a recent poster from the United States, entitled USA LATE RELEASE.  Compare this and other posters on the P&LC page to the B&W image just posted to the PRODUCTION ARTWORK page.

15 FEBRUARY 2004:  To the TOM SCHERMAN page in the NAUTILUS MODELS Department: I’ve added a sketch Tom did on  a napkin of the Nautilus display at the MYSTERIOUS ISLAND attraction in Japan.  This image was provided by Tom’s brother, ROWLAND SCHERMAN, to whom we are extremely grateful.  Also on Tom’s page I added some information about the pipe we see him holding in the picture at the bottom.  Look closely and you’ll see the pipe is a replica of a Nautilus Diver helmet!  Thanks to Wayne Orlicki for pointing this out to us.

19 FEBRUARY 2004:  Added eight more pictures to WILLIAM BABINGTON’s page in the NAUTILUS MODELS department.  Will’s page was one of the first I did, and it’s always been pretty sparse.  These additions have been a long time coming.  I’ve added pics of his early 6-inch NAUTILUS; his in-process Goff NAUTILUS prototype model; and images of an Artist’s Proof Model of the soon-to-be-released Disney 50th Anniversary NAUTILUS replica in 1:96 scale.  You owe yourself a look!

21 FEBRUARY 2004:  Added another poster to the POSTERS AND LOBBY CARDS page: “Just for Grins.”  Check it out!  J

21 FEBRUARY 2004:  To the TOM SCHERMAN page in the NAUTILUS MODELS department:  I’ve added a picture of Tom Scherman and Dan Kachur (taken by Dan’s wife Bertha in 1995) outside Tom’s Hollywood apartment with the original Nemo helmet used in the movie.  It’s also on Dan’s page, but I’ve included it here so it won’t be overlooked by those researching Tom.  Enjoy!

22 FEBRUARY 2004:  Added four new images to the BEHIND THE SCENES page.

22 FEBRUARY 2004:  Added a whimsical postcard to the EURODISNEY page; an early Storyboard Drawing of the underwater hunt to the PRODUCTION ARTWORK page; and a two-photo composition comparing the original 11-foot SFX NAUTILUS model to the new 50th Anniversary Replica on WILLIAM BABINGTON’s page.

14 MARCH 2004:  Been busy in the shop and have fallen behind on things I’ve wanted to add to the website.  Tonight I added a link to an online version of Jules Verne’s 20.000 Leagues Under the Sea for the benefit of those who may wish to read or refer to the book.  Check the LINKS page under Jules Verne.

15 APRIL 2004:  STILL busy in the shop and way behind on additions to the website.  Tonight I added a couple new pics of Andrew Probert’s NAUTILUS and LEGEND FOUND paintings to the NAUTILUS IMAGES page; and also added some links to Probert’s site under the DISNEY’S 20,000 LEAGUES section of our LINKS page.  Probert is the artist who (among many other things) did the cover painting for the now-famous 1984 copy of CINEFANTASTIQUE MAGAZINE that featured Harry Hathorne’s retrospective on the making of LEAGUES.  He’s got a new painting, LEGEND FOUND, and it’s pretty cool in it’s own right.  Check it out!

11 MAY 2004:  Haven’t had much time for the website lately.  Today I added a link to THE NAUTILUS DIVING CHAMBER: a discussion group about 20,000 LEAGUES and Underwater Technologies at YAHOO! This makes four YAHOO! Groups that I’m aware of, that are dedicated to this subject.  The purpose is to provide a place where people can meet and exchange information in an internet environment more suited to that sort of thing than the Message Board here at VSC is.  Go there; join the group; and have a good time!

15 MAY 2004:  On the FREE VIDEO CLIPS page, you will find a link to an online video game entitled NEMO’S REVENGE which you can play on your computer.  You get to be Captain Nemo, walking along the bottom of the sea in full diving gear, shooting your way through dangerous denizens of the deep while on a mission to recover the stolen NAUTILUS power source.  The game was created by NICK CROCCO, and is a lot of fun.  Give it a try!

03 JUNE 2004:  On the PRODUCTION ARTWORK PAGE, I have added six original production artwork paintings, done by Harper Goff for Disney’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.  These paintings were once in the private collection of LEAGUES Film Editor ELMO WILLIAMS, and a letter of authenticity from him is included.  Enjoy!

04 JUNE 2004:  To the DISNEY DIVERS page: Ty Bumgardner contributed three pictures of large scale props used during filming in the  Bahamas; they are in the Tribute section   Also, I’ve begun a new section toward the bottom of the page entitled MORE DIVER IMAGES towards the bottom of the page.  There, you’ll find seven more pictures from Harry Hathorne, Ty Bumgardner, and from my own collection.  The intent is to provide pics of the dive suits, dive operation, and interesting factoids relative thereto.  Expect this new sub-section to grow in the future!

21 JUNE 2004:  Temporarily suspended collecting names of people interested in the HOME BUILT SUBMARINE HOW-TO MANUAL.  Also, temporarily deactivated the VULCANIA SUBMARINE MESSAGE BOARD.

27 JUNE 2004:  Added two more links on the FREE VIDEO CLIPS page: these access user interactive links where a person can take a visual tour of the interior cabins and exterior areas of the NAUTILUS submarine; and, there’s an animated “fly through” where you can travel through a CG NAUTILUS interior, from the pilot house to the diving chamber and back again.   These are only demo links for a company called RENDEROSITY who sells CD’s with these programs on them (and more) whereby you can do a lot more than these links allow.  But check it out!  And take a look at the other things they offer, too.  Just might see something you like.

19 JULY 2004:  Added a link to an mpg clip of Tom Yourk’s Jet NAUTILUS model rigged with water cannons to reproduce the bow wave effect seen in 20,000 LEAGUES.  Check out the FREE VIDEO CLIPS page.  Also learned the link to the NAUTILUS PROVING TEST video clip is no longer operational.  Will be fixing that in the near future, priorities notwithstanding.

21 JULY 2004:  Uploaded NAUTCLIP1A to this website.   This is a 10 MEG AVI clip of excerpts from the NAUTILUS MINISUB PROVING TEST videos, taken back in 1991, and set to music.  It used to be carried as a courtesy on another website, but no longer is.   So I decided to bring it home where it belongs.  You can find it on the FREE VIDEO CLIPS page, and there’s also a link to it on the TESTING THE NAUTILUS MINISUB page here at VSC.  This was our first attempt at an AVI many years ago, and the video quality is pretty pixilated, but at least you can see what’s going on.  The music is CD quality, so adjust your audio to taste.

07 AUGUST 2004:  Uploaded two preview pics of the recently completed NAUTILUS DIVER helmet.  The Project is complete except for a few minor details we’ll be taking care of in the next week.  We’ll be posting more pics of the steps leading up to the completed rig, plus more of the entire assembly on display, as soon as possible.

12 AUGUST 2004:  Finished the NAUTILUS DIVER PROJECT today.  Whew!  More pics to follow after I rest a while.  J

12 AUGUST 2004:  Uploaded five new CGI renderings to the NAUTILUS IMAGES page.  Scroll down to the bottom and look for the word NEW.  Some pretty amazing images there from the MALERWERKST website in Germany, and a nice one from 3D CAFE.  Check ‘em out!

14 AUGUST 2004:  Added two photos of the finished NAUTILUS DIVER project, at the bottom of the BUILDING THE NAUTILUS DIVER page.  The rig is ready to dive.

15 AUGUST 2004:  Added two more photos of the NAUTILUS DIVER to the BUILDING THE NAUTILUS DIVER page.

15 AUGUST 2004:  Added two more essays to THE JOURNAL OF PROFESSOR ARONNAX: one describing how we built and tested the NEMOSUIT, and the other about our most recently completed NAUTILUS DIVER project.

16 AUGUST 2004:  Added three more pictures of the “Getting Suited Up” display to the BUILDING THE NAUTILUS DIVER page.

16 AUGUST 2004:  Added two more pictures to the BUILDING THE NAUTILUS DIVER page: this time, it’s of both the NEMOSUIT and DIVER on display.  With this, I declare the building of the NAUTILUS DIVER to be done.  Next, we dive!

17 AUGUST 2004:  Uploaded two new pics to the bottom of the DISNEYSEA JAPAN page.  Check ‘em out!

17 AUGUST 2004:  Added a new page to the site: NEWEST CREWMEMBER OF THE NAUTILUS, to share the joy of our dear friends, TY and ASHLEY ALLEY, and their new son TYDES WILLIAM ALLEY IV.    Ty is the owner of the AQUALA SPORTS MANUFACTURING COMPANY in Shreveport, Louisiana; and those wishing to email their congratulations to the proud new parents may contact them via the URL to the AQUALA Website on our LINKS page.  Way to go, you guys!  J

20 AUGUST 2004:  Just for grins, I added one more picture to the BUILDING THE NAUTILUS DIVER page.  Scroll down to the bottom and check it out.  J

25 AUGUST 2004:  According to all major Search Engines and our Server Stats, VULCANIASUBMARINE.COM is the number-one website for people searching for the Disney Nautilus.   Today, I added an informative commentary entitled STATISTICS to the JOURNAL OF PROFESSOR ARONNAX page.  My way of saying “THANKS!” to all you Leaguers around the World who appreciate what we’re doing here.  Many Mahalos!

26 AUGUST 2004:  Added seven more pictures including some from Harry Hathorne’s collection  to the bottom of THE DISNEY DIVERS page.  Scroll down and look for the word NEW!  Enjoy!

27 AUGUST 2004:  Rowland Scherman was kind enough to send us two significant family photos which have been added to his brother Tom’s page in the NAUTILUS MODELS section.  Scroll down to the bottom of the TOM SCHERMAN page and look for the word NEW!  This addition gives the page a perspective it never had before.  Muchly appreciated, Rowland.  Thank you.

27 AUGUST 2004:  Karl Stanley just sent us the first picture of IDABEL operating underwater in Roatan, Honduras.  Check out the IDABEL page, scroll down to the bottom, and look for the word (you guessed it!) NEW!

30 AUGUST 2004:  Ammended text on the SCOTT BRODEEN page in the NAUTILUS MODELS Department, crediting RICHARD COYLE for his efforts in producing the 16-inch NAUTILUS replica distributed for many years by the DISNEYANA Store.

04 SEPTEMBER 2004:  Added the REGAN Family Crest to the INDEX page.

15 SEPTEMBER 2004:  Added a new page, NEON NEMO, to the NAUTILUS IMAGES Department.  This is a collection of photos from VSC rendered in a computer-generated “neon” format.

16 SEPTEMBER 2004:  Added a black-and-white graphic entitled KEEP ON LEAGUIN’ (reminiscent of the original artwork in ZAP COMICS by R. Crumb) to the INDEX PAGE.  Slogan and Image Copyright Pat Regan, 2004, “All Rights Reserved.”

29 SEPTEMBER 2004:  Transferred the graphic KEEP ON LEAGUIN’ from the INDEX page to the bottom of the FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS page.

29 SEPTEMBER 2004:  Added a quote from Disney’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea to the INDEX page.

30 SEPTEMBER 2004:  Added 41 more close-up pics (to the already-existing 8 pictures) showing the details of the Disney filming miniature on the DISNEY’S 11-FOOT SFX MODEL page in the NAUTILUS SCALE MODELS Department.  Also added a continuation of this same topic, entitled DISNEY’S 11-FOOT SFX MODEL, PAGE TWO, where you will find an additional 40 pictures.  Between the two pages, there is now a total of 89 detailed views of the 11-footer.   Hopefully, this will be of benefit to scale modelers everywhere.

30 SEPTEMBER 2004:  Made corrections to the LINKS and NAUTILUS IMAGES pages: MICHAEL and KAREN’s last name is spelled CRISAFULLI, not CHRISAFULLI.  Sorry ‘bout that!  J  Anyway, go check out their website, listed on the LINKS page here at VSC.  Great stuff about Jules Verne and the NAUTILUS.  Guaranteed you won’t be wasting your time there.

08 OCTOBER 2004:  We are grateful to the family of the late TOM SCHERMAN: particularly his brothers ROWLAND and DAVID, for their support of our efforts here at VSC.  Recently, DAVID SCHERMAN wrote to express his thanks for our pages dedicated to Tom’s life and works.   He also sent us a link to his own TOM SCHERMAN MEMORIAL WEBSITE, which has been added to our LINKS page, under the category DISNEY’S 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA.  On David’s site you will find a great photo of Tom at work on one of his NAUTILUS replicas, as well as several of the napkin drawings the late Mr. Scherman was famous for. Please take the time to visit this site.

08 OCTOBER 2004:  Added a new page dedicated to the 20,000 LEAGUES EXPO, organized primarily by Kym Hainley in Anaheim, 2003.  The page features candid photography by Wayne Orlicki.  I’ve posted this page in the Department reserved for Walt Disney’s 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA,  not that it is directly related to the filming of the movie, but because it was the Expo theme.  Enjoy!

08 OCTOBER 2004:  Added five new pictures to the PRODUCTION ARTWORK Page.  Scroll down towards the bottom and look for the word (you guessed it) NEW!   J

09 OCTOBER 2004: On our page dedicated to WALT DISNEYWORLD, FLORIDA: I’ve added a link to a website entitled giveneyestosee.com where you’ll find a page featuring M. 14 OCTOBER 2004:  Added a new page: VULCANIA SUBMARINE APPAREL.  So far we’re showing a few of the T-shirt designs worn by our Dive Crew.  We’ll add more designs and items in the future.  Will be making these available to the public on special order.  Never can tell: somebody might want one!  J

14 OCTOBER 2004:  Added another new page: MISCELLANEOUS IMAGES.  I’ve got quite a bit of stuff in my files that is kind of unusual yet interesting in its own way; but it just doesn’t fit in anywhere else on this website.  This page will become the repository for that sort of thing.  I’ll start with a few pics, and add on from time to time.  Enjoy!

15 OCTOBER 2004:  Added another picture to the PRODUCTION ARTWORK page: an illustration of a scene that never made it into the movie, where the castaways encounter the giant squid lurking outside the salon window.  Scroll down to the bottom of the page and look for the word NEW!

21 OCTOBER 2004:  Added three more color pictures of the inside of that wealthy Saudi’s Underwater Pleasure Palace.  One of these days, I’d like to build something like that.  Check it out on the MISCELLANEOUS IMAGES page.

14 NOVEMBER 2004:  On the LINKS page: added a link to Dave Cooper’s website, SUBMARINEMOVIES.COM.  Dave’s site is just getting started; he’s focused on all sorts of submarine movies; and you’ll find pages dedicated to Disney’s 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA.  Check it out; and keep an eye on it as Dave develops the site in days to come.  Looks like a good one!

11 DECEMBER 2004:  Where does the time go?  We have the helmet from the NAUTILUS DIVER up for auction on eBay.  Check the CHALKBOARD for the link.  Also, today we added a couple more pictures from PETER MADSEN in Denmark of his submarines FREYA and KRAKA.  Both have been in the shop: FREYA got an overhaul and KRAKA is still under construction.  But FREYA is back in service with a larger viewport, and KRAKA is nearly ready to dive.  Check out the NEW! pictures at the bottom of Peter’s KRAKA page in the submersibles department here at VSC.

22 DECEMBER 2004:  We’ve been carrying some pictures on the MISCELLANEOUS IMAGES page of what was described as a “Wealthy Saudi’s Underwater Palace.”  That’s what the fellow I got the pictures described it as.  Anyway, I recently found out that it is actually the RED SEA STAR RESTAURANT in Israel.  It’s still an amazing underwater habitat, no matter where it is or who built it.  But now we’ve corrected the error, and included a link to a website about this fantastic underwater structure.  Visit the MISCELLANEOUS IMAGES page, and click the link to access their website.  Really worth a look.

2005

01 JANUARY 2005: As work on the new NEMO II helmet progresses toward conclusion, VULCANIA SUBMARINE has been selected as the featured topic of the month at the DIVING HERITAGE WEBSITE.  You can check it out at the following link.  Look for the LEAGUES poster featuring “The Mightiest Mechanical Maniac of Them All.”  http://www.divingheritage.com/patregan.htm  Enjoy!

03 JANUARY 2005: Courtesy of Diving Helmet Expert LEON LYONS: I’ve added an interesting graphic from DESMARINS MIDIA DIGITAL in Italy, to the MISCELLANEOUS IMAGES Page.  Scroll down to the bottom of that page and look for the rendering entitled TRADITIONAL DIVING HELMET.

08 JANUARY 2005:  Added a “Sneak Preview” picture of the nearly-completed NEMO II helmet to the CHALKBOARD.  Just click the NEXT hyperlink (below) and scroll down to the bottom of that page.

15 JANUARY 2005:  (Date approximate)  Removed outdated or redundant posts from the CHALKBOARD, including picture of the nearly-completed NEMO II helmet.

29 JANUARY 2005:  Added the BUILDING THE NEMO II page to the UNDERWATER TECHNOLOGIES section in the VULCANIA SUBMARINE Department.  I coined a new term to describe this helmet: I call it “Honest to Goff”, because it is.  Enjoy!  J

02 FEBRUARY 2005:  Added several more reference pictures and information to the BUILDING THE NEMO II page.

03 FEBRUARY 2005:  An unforeseen shift in schedule gives me a little time for the computer.  Uploaded a new page to the WALT DISNEY’S 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA Department, entitled MEMORABILIA.   We begin this new page by showcasing the Leagues-related collectibles of well-known Hollywood Actor and prop collector BOB BURNS, who (among many, many other things) owns a replica 11-foot NAUTILUS, a Disney Diver Helmet, and one of Captain Nemo’s underwater rifles.   In the future, we’ll be adding more to this page as opportunities and priorities allow.  Great stuff!  Check it out.

06 FEBRUARY 2005:  Came across a picture I’ve had for some time, misplaced in a file in a laptop I seldom use.  Added it to the bottom of the TOM SCHERMAN page in the DISNEY NAUTILUS DEPARTMENT.  I borrowed a line from Ned Land as the caption, because I felt it summarized the man’s life.  Click the preceding hyperlink and scroll down to the bottom of the page.

06 FEBRUARY 2005:  Taking full advantage of some downtime while I await minor surgery, I have posted another essay on the JOURNAL OF PROFESSOR P. ARONNAX page, about the NEMO II.  Click on the following hyperlink, and scroll down to the bottom of the JOURNAL page.

08 FEBRUARY 2005:  Added a new page to the website: CLASSIFIED ADS.  There, you’ll find items for sale.  We’ve only got a few things up right now, but we’ll be adding more in the future; so come on back and check it out once in a while.  J  I’ll write a little bit about it on the CHALKBOARD, to explain how it works, what to expect, and so on.

10 FEBRUARY 2005:  Added three more items to the CLASSIFIED ADS page: one brand new Korean Diving Helmet; one set of 12 brass diving helmet breastplate wingnuts; and one new, unpunched, rubber collar gasket for a deep sea diving suit.  New additions will always be towards the bottom of the page, marked by a flag symbol Oplus the word NEW! and the date of listing in RED.

12 February 2005:  Added some new pictures to the LEON LYONS page in the DEEP SEA DIVING HELMET Department.  Actually, these were photos I’ve had for a while and should have posted a long time ago, but you know how things go sometimes.  Sorry ‘bout that, Leon!  Anyway, better late than never, eh?  So click the hyperlink to the LEON LYONS page, scroll down to the bottom, and look for the word NEW!  Enjoy!

12 February 2005:  It’s been a long time since I added any pictures to the BEHIND THE SCENES page, so tonight I took care of that.  Click on the following hyperlink, scroll down to the bottom of the BEHIND THE SCENES page, and look for pictures marked NEW!

16 February 2005:  Updated the information for the new pictures on LEON LYONS page in the DEEP SEA DIVING EQUIPMENT Department.  Click the hyperlink, and scroll down toward the bottom of that page looking for the word NEW!

18 February 2005:  Posted a new piece of artwork at the bottom of the NEMO II page.

19 February 2005:  Posted a new page in the NAUTILUS IMAGES Department entitled NAUTILUS GALLERY.   It’s the beginning of a collection of original artwork by the webmaster.  Only three images there right now, but will be adding more in the future.

21 February 2005:  Been adding a few images to the NAUTILUS GALLERY page.  Trying various styles.  Check it out.

21 February 2005:  Added a new page to the UNDERWATER TECHNOLOGIES Section of the VULCANIA SUBMARINE Department.  This one is entitled NEMOSUIT II, and it has some photos of our NEMOSUIT sporting the “new and improved” NEMO II helmet.

26 February 2005:  Added a new page to the NAUTILUS IMAGES Department entitled DISNEY ART DEPARTMENT DRAWINGS.  Shown are only a few images from the Two Volume, 200-image official Disney collection.  I have the entire set available for personal use.  Visit the page, see what’s there, and email me if you’re interested in obtaining a copy.  This is a MUST for all serious Leagues fans and NAUTILUS modelers.

01 MARCH 2005: Ended efforts to provide my hi-quality CD of the complete 200-image DISNEY ART DEPARTMENT DRAWINGS.  It is no longer available.  I’m advised a less-complete volume of lower-quality images is available elsewhere on the internet for free download.

09 March 2005:  Posted pictures and information on the DISNEY ART DEPARTMENT DRAWINGS page.

12 March 2005:  Added seven new pictures and information to the TOM SCHERMAN page in the NAUTILUS MODELS Department.  These NEW! Images are all from the private collection of Dan and Bertha Kachur; are protected by Copyright; and are presented here exclusively and by permission of the copyright owner.  Dan has asked me to convey his request that others respect his copyright, and do not copy or reproduce these images in any form.  Thanks, and enjoy!

14 March 2005:  Added a whole slew of new pictures to the  DAN KACHUR page in the NAUTILUS MODELS department.  Scroll down to the bottom and look for the word NEW!  Again, these are from Dan and Bertha’s personal collection, they are copyright protected, and he asks that you do not copy or distribute them in any form.  Check ‘em out.  Some great stuff there.

17 March 2005:  Added a picture from Wayne Orlicki to the NAUTILUS IMAGES page.  Scroll down to the bottom and look for the word NEW!

20 March 2005:  Added two pictures to the BEHIND THE SCENES page: one B&W of the miniature squid attacking the 11-foot SFX NAUTILUS, and one interesting view of the storm squid fight, courtesy of Larry Brooks.  Scroll down to the bottom of the BTS page and look for the word (you guessed it) NEW!

21 March 2005:  Added two pictures of my 31” CUSTOM REPLICAS NAUTILUS model to the MISCELLANEOUS IMAGES page.  As usual, click on the link and scroll down to the bottom of that page looking for the word NEW!

07 April 2005:  Added another CG Image by BOB JENSON entitled ARCTIC to the NAUTILUS IMAGES page. You know how to find it!

10 April 2005:  Removed three inactive links from the FREE VIDEO CLIPS page: the two from Renderosity, and Tom Yourk’s video of his excellent hydrojet-powered NAUTILUS model kicking up a realistic bow wave effect.  Don’t know what happened to the Renderosity pages, but Tom said he needed more space on the site for family stuff.  Hopefully, his clips will surface again at a later date.

14 April 2005:  Back in January, we were honored by Bert and Karin Dodde’s DIVING HERITAGE WEBSITE: they listed the works of VULCANIA SUBMARINE alongside the real greats of the American diving helmet industry, and also made us their featured news article of the month.  VSC has carried a link to the DH website for a long time; and also a link to that article since it came out.  But we’ve never really written anything about Bert and Karin or their website, and I’m just now getting around to correcting that oversight.  Check out the DIVING HERITAGE page in our MEDIA COVERAGE department.  There’s a link there that will take you to our article on their website, and once there I suggest you spend some time checking out what’s available at DIVING HERITAGE.  Home-based in Europe, DH hosts the largest virtual diving helmet collection in the World, and a lot more.  Definitely worth a very long look.

15 April 2005:  Uploaded a page for the new and improved VULCANIA SUBMARINE DISCUSSION GROUP in the WEBSITE DEPARTMENTS section.  This is a YAHOO! website with a different format than we tried before, so hopefully we’ll have better luck with spamsters than we did before.   For more information, click the preceding link to access the group page here at VSC, read what’s there, and then you can access the site from the hyperlink provided on that page.  You might want to bookmark it for future reference.

16 April 2005:  I added a DIRECT LINK to the Vulcania Submarine Discussion Group on the INTRODUCTION section of the VSC Home Page: this will make it easier to access the site.  Remember: to return to the VSC Home Page, either use your computer’s BACK BUTTON, or click on the link to VSC at the bottom of the VSDG website Home Page.

17 April 2005:  Added a new page to the INTRODUCTION Department which explains our FREE IRON-ON OFFER.

19 April 2005:  Added five new images to the IRON ON page.  These are worn by our Dive Crew here at VULCANIA SUBMARINE, and are available as a free download to members of our Vulcania Submarine Discussion Group website.  All you gotta do is access the group via the link here at VSC, join, and the full-sized files are in the FILES section.

23 April 2005:  SUCCESS!!!  After three years of difficult work, Denmark’s submarine wizard Peter Madsen has launched his new submarine, KRAKA.  For the latest pictures and information about this remarkable submarine, please use the preceding hyperlink, and scroll down to the bottom of the page looking for the word NEW!  Congratulations to Peter Madsen, Claus Noerregaard, and crew!  Well done!

29 April 2005:  Rearranged the INDEX page: put all the pages like the CLASSIFIED, IRON-ON, and DISCUSSION GROUP down at the bottom in the WEBSITE DEPARTMENTS section where they belong.  Now, visitors to VSC who navigate through the page links will go through all we have to offer here; then arrive at the link to the Discussion Group.  Probably the way it oughta be.  ;-)

06 May 2005:  Vulcania Submarine Discussion Group is undergoing renovations.  Nothing except LINKS page and T-SHIRT TRANSFER IMAGES DOWNLOAD FILE accessible there until further notice.

08 May 2005:  Uploaded one more picture of KRAKA underway on the surface via Diesel power.  Peter Madsen and crew get my vote for BEST NEW SUBMARINE OF THE YEAR.  As of the time of this writing, the boat’s completed ten dives and is operating correctly in all respects.  Stand by for underwater pictures soon

11 May 2005:  More pictures of KRAKA on Pete Madsen’s page; including what I believe is the first picture on the internet of the submarine underwater.  Got into a little reflective writing myself, down toward the bottom of the page.  Just for grins!  ;-)

11 May 2005:  Removed the “reflective writing” essay from Pete Madsen’s page; figured it belongs in the Journal instead.  I might post it there when I get time, but no great hurry on that.

17 May 2005:  Created a new page entitled A LETTER FROM HARPER GOFF in the 20,000 LEAGUES Department.   This is an unedited transcript of a handwritten letter produced by Harper Goff in 1974, wherein he described the creative processes by which he created the Disney NAUTILUS, the diving gear seen in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and more.  An interesting look into the mind of this creative genius.

21 May 2005:  The VSDG website is operational again; and here at VSC, we’ve started re-arranging a few pages to make the website easier for visitors to navigate through.

20 June 2005:   Added a page to the Homebuilt Submarines Department for the NAUTILUS MINISUB, explaining the significance of that project in comparison to contemporary subs of the late 1980’s.

12 October 2005: Posted a new page in the Featured Submarines Department for Dan Hryhorcoff’s excellent new KH-350 submarine, PERSISTENCE.  If you are interested in learning what it takes to build a submarine, especially one of the Kitteredge boats, this page should be of interest.

2006

12 January 2006:  Added fourteen new pictures of Leon Lyon’s Diving Helmet Museum in St. Augustine, Florida.  For those who may not know, Leon is author of HELMETS OF THE DEEP and considered one of the top experts on diving helmets in the World.  His collection of diving helmets and related items is so extensive that we really can’t do justice to it here, but we do our best and are grateful to Leon for giving us the opportunity to try.  Click the link to Leon’s page, scroll down to the bottom, and look for the word NEW!

12 March 2006:  Added a long overdue new page to the VULCANIA SUBMARINE UNDERWATER TECHNOLOGIES Department, entitled REFURBISHING THE NAUTILUS MINISUB, PAGE TWO.  It’s time we brought the Website up to speed on what we’ve been doing with that boat.  Only a few pictures there right now, but I’ll be adding more in the near future.

March 13, 2006:  It’s “zero-early-thirty” and I should be in bed, but I stayed up digging through old CD’s of pictures and posted some more on the REFURBISHING THE NAUTILUS MINISUB, PAGE TWO.  This is costing me my much needed beauty rest!  The least you could do is check ‘em out!  J

Saturday, March 18, 2006:  Scroll down to the bottom and find the DIVING AND UNDERWATER TECHNOLOGIES section our LINKS page:  added a link to CHRIS CHULAMANIS’ website about ARMY DIVERS.  Most people don’t even know that the U.S. ARMY had it’s own hardhat divers doing salvage, demo, and all kinds of incredible stuff during the Viet Nam War.  Well, they sure did, and Chris was one of them.  You owe it to yourself to check this site out.  You can also get there via a link at the bottom of CHRIS’ page in our NAUTILUS MODELS Department.

Friday, April 07, 2006:  Added a few more pictures to REFURBISHING THE NAUTILUS MINISUB, PAGE TWO including some of the new engine-driven hydrojet propulsion system improvements.  Next time she runs, she’s gonna be FAST!  J

Saturday, April 15, 2006:  Created a new page in the HOMEBUILT SUBMERSIBLES / FEATURED SUBMARINES Department for Doc Rowe’s outrageous new two place variant of the extremely popular BIONIC DOLPHIN.  Up in Northern California, Doc, Dusty, and the rest of the VASH people continue to build things most people don’t even dream about, and you’ve just got to see this new boat he’s almost ready to launch.  Totally outrageous!  J  Check out BIONIC DOLPHIN, TAKE TWO.

Sunday, December 07, 2008:  Added some unpublished photos to the BILL STROPAHL page.  One is a candid shot of Bill working underwater with Leagues Director Richard Fleischer during the filming of the “rudder repair” scene; and, there are two 3-part montages of events preceding the shooting of the cover photo for the February 1954 issue of LIFE MAGAZINE.

Wednesday, December 10, 2008:  Added two new images to the NAUTILUS GALLERY page: a Nautilus Crew Diver wearing a “Baldy” helmet; and one of Captain Nemo underwater.  As usual, click on the link and scroll down to the bottom of that page.

Sunday, December 21, 2008:  Made additions and corrections to the page for Bill STROPAHL, including some interesting insights into being a commercial diver, and working on the making of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Also, updated THE JOURNAL OF PROFESSOR P. ARONNAX page with a new article entitled THE DISNEY DIVER which features recollections by Mr. Stropahl about being a commercial hardhat diver, working on 20,000 Leagues, and so on.

And, updated the HONOR ROLL on the Disney Divers page to include Ricou Browning.  In 1953, Ricou performed the underwater scenes as the monster in The Creature from the Black Lagoon.  In 1954 he was one of the Disney Divers working in the Bahamas to film the underwater scenes for 20,000 Leagues.  On Internet movie information sites, Ricou is credited for “stunts” on Leagues, but he is not credited as a “stunt diver”.  It’s a question we’ve done considerable research into, and via photos showing Ricou and other divers in the Disney gear aboard the Dive Barge, we’ve confirmed that he was in fact one of those diving the “Baldy” helmets.  So, we’re pleased to give Ricou Browning the credit he is due, by including his name on our Honor Roll, with those of his fellow Disney Divers.

Monday, December 22, 2008:  Added a new page to the Walt Disney’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea department: a continuation of our tribute to the Disney Divers, entitled THE DISNEY DIVERS II.  We’re starting out with improved images from the unpublished LIFE magazine archives, and will continue with pics and info from my files, and from the files of Disney Diver Bill Stropahl in the near future.

Wednesday, December 24, 2008:  Updated the HONOR ROLL on the Disney Divers  page to include Ed Stepner.  Have more pics and info about Ed and other Disney divers to follow after the holidays.

2009

Friday, January 02, 2009:  Right around Christmas Eve last year, we were first to disclose information about an uncredited Disney Diver by the name of Leonard Mott.  This information came to us from Dr. Phil Nuytten (NUYTCO RESEARCH, Canada); and Disney Diver Bill Stropahl, who had been best friends with Len since they came up from the Sparling School of Diving together to work on 20,000 Leagues.  All who knew him say Leonard Mott was one of the real sparkplugs of the Disney Diver team: a hard-working guy who was always looking for ways to help other people.  Tragically, Len lost his life trying to save others at the Second Narrows Bridge disaster in Canada, back in 1958.  Today I added Len’s name to the HONOR ROLL on the Disney Divers  page; and posted some additional information here and there, as well.  Check it out.  We’ll be publishing more about Leonard Mott, Bill Stropahl, and the other Leagues divers in the future, right here at VSC.

Saturday, January 17, 2009:  Added a new video to YOUTUBE, entitled 20,000 Leagues Nautilus Submarine and Captain Nemo.  Better footage of the 1991 Nautilus Minisub proving tests, and new footage of my Captain Nemo and Nautilus Crew Diver suits underwater in Hawaii.

Sunday, February 01, 2009:  Added more pictures to the BILL STROPAHL page, from his personal collection.  Candid scenes from aboard the dive barge in the Bahamas, circa 1954.  Thanks, Bill!  J

Also: Later in the day I added three more “improved” versions of Peter Stackpole’s Leagues shots to the Disney Divers II page, which are better in terms of color and clarity.  And I also added one B&W shot of the divers underwater, proving that not only Nemo wore those spiffy “black scalloped” dive tanks!  J

Sunday, March 06, 2011:  Added more pics and info to : REFURBISHING THE NAUTILUS MINISUB PAGE THREE.  This will explain the small variances that existed in the boat “as tested” back in 1991, and where we intend to go with her now.   Visualize: an 18.5 foot, 1.25 ton, manned version of the 11-foot “Hero” SFX model; all decked out in brass plate with full exterior detailing and 14,000 embossed rivet heads.  YEAH BABY!!  J

2016

Thursday, March 10, 2016: So far this year I was working on a project to make part of the studio look like the inside of a submarine.  But ever since word came out about Disney's planned 20,000 Leagues prequel on February 25, I've been pretty busy with screenplay-related issues and haven't had time to log things here.  Just making this notation now to bring 2016 onto the page.  Most updates continue on our blog, The Monster.

Friday, March 25, 2016:  Posted a new page about the SCREENPLAYS we've copyrighted based on our 2013 novel Vulcanium (The Secret of Captain Nemo and the Nautilus.

2018

Saturday, January 06, 2018:  VSC website was unavailable for the first three days of this year due to server maintenance.  We're back up again and the website is working faster than ever.  J

Friday, April 06, 2018: ADDR.COM (our internet host since 2001) went down again last month and didn't come back.  We have a new server as of today and are reloading the pages to the web again.

Thursday, April 26, 2018:  My wonderful wife Lynn has not only been my partner and safety diver in all the projects of Vulcania Submarine, but she is quite the talented artist and painter, as well.  Today I added a page for her entitled THE ARTWORK OF LYNN REGAN.

Saturday, October 20, 2018: Started THE CLIPBOARD: a blog about what's happening in the shop.

2019

Thursday, March 07, 2019:  A belated Happy New Year!  Been working steadily on the NAUTILUS MINISUB rebuild and posting updates on the new THE CLIPBOARD  and REFURBISHING THE NAUTILUS MINISUB PAGE FOUR pages .  Other than that, no new additions to the VSC website; but you know we're still Leaguin'.  J

Wednesday, March 27, 2019: Began REFURBISHING THE NAUTILUS MINISUB PAGE FIVE because it was getting too difficult to upload new pics and info to PAGE FOUR.  The work continues and we are nearly ready to run the new drivetrain.

2020

Sunday, January 19, 2020: As usual, a belated Happy New Year!  Lots going on and the online media has taken a back seat to more important priorities so I can accomplish what I've planned for the future.   I've got projects to complete and they are my focus now.  I'll continue posting what seems appropriate as we go along; but for the most part, consider me in the shop because that's where I'll be.  Meanwhile, all email links on this website are operational if you need to get in touch.  KEEP ON LEAGUIN!

Saturday, October 31, 2020:   What a year this has been.  Lynn and I are grateful for many blessings; but also diminished by many tragedies including Kirk Douglas, Covid 19,  Eddie Van Halen; and today, Sean Connery.  I do believe dying only hurts those who must endure and carry on; that doesn't make it any easier for the survivors, though.  Sad.

I've been working between carpentry on our home and metalwork in the shop; haven't had much time for this website.  Disabled the "Chalkboard" page as it seemed redundant.  Most notices are on "The Monster" blog page but I haven't been diligent there, either.  Priorities; you know.

Started a new REFURBISHING THE NAUTILUS MINISUB PAGE SIX because we're into the hull-surgery stage of our rennovation.

Generally, I'm dedicated to improving the submarine and building a few more 20K diving rigs.  After that, we have plans to use our creations in the most enjoyable ways possible.

Meanwhile, let's all just try to get through the rest of this year and this damn pandemic.  If I can make it happen, 2021 will be a banner year for Vulcania Submarine; and we hope it will be a good one for you and yours, as well.

2021

This year marks the 45th year of continuous operation for our Vulcania Submarine R&D facility; the 30th anniversary of the launching of the Nautilus Minisub; and the 20th anniversary of this VSC website.  We've got tangible goals and are working towards them but if I waste time writing and documenting things online, it won't get done.  Also, for us, social media is dead.  We no longer maintain a social media presence at places like Facebook or the like.  So don't expect our usual updates and offerings; but do expect good things from us in the future.  Happy F'n New Year!  J

ENJOY!

2022

Friday, July 22, 2022: I haven’t accessed this website since our main computer crashed last year.  It’s still operational.  J

Wednesday, July 27, 2022: Posted notification on The Monster (blog) that the works of Vulcania Submarine will not be included in Leon Lyons’ forthcoming book, Helmets of the Deep Returns, should it ever be published.

Saturday, August 6, 2022: WEBSITE MAINTENANCE.  Had to temporarily remove Lynn’s artwork page because it got AFU somehow; we’re going to have to rebuild and repost it.  Also noticed some of the pics and text on other pages somehow got pooched so I’m going through the pages and straightening errors out whenever I find them.  Other than that, still the same ol’ VSC.

ADNOTE: Checked all the pages; on some, the positioning of pics and info had shifted.  After a few adjustments plus uploading the page files and htm again, they all look good now.  Lots of dead soldiers on the Links page but VSC’s an old site.  I’ll leave them up to document what used to be.

ALSO: Added a meme at the bottom of the Miscellaneous Images page that pretty much describes our philosophy for life.  J

2023

August 31, 2023: Vulcania Submarine is working toward an event featuring our 20,000 Leagues Diving Apparatus and the Nautilus Minisub in Hawaii.  Film at eleven.  J
